Social Responsibility

My Social Responsibility is Managing self and Including others. Last week for

P.e we did Tag. We had two teams and subs on the side,we had to sub on sub

off. FOr this lesson i was level 3 because i still need to manage myself more

and control my actions. For the next lesson i want to improve on including and

showing a lot of respect towards others. I would like to keep improving so I

can be level 5 at the end of the term.

Darker Side Of Chocolate

How can individuals and groups help to protect these communities.
What can you do to help these communities?

I think the other governments from other countries should help

out more for the countries in need like ghana. They should at least help with

some clean water for the community to drink and help with the

planting of their own food. The farmer unions encourage chocolate

brokers such like Nestle and other companies to buy more of their

fair trade chocolate so the people of Africa can have a better life. Its sad to see all the children labours suffer without any education.

Human Rights

This document was created in 1945 but then released into the world. It was created straight after the WW2 finished. The reason why the UDHR was created was because to stop all the chaos all around the world. The UDHR made a lot of peace all around the world. There was heaps of freedom to countries. In some countries people violate some of the human rights. One young girl in Cambodia had no choice but to work so they can provide for their families. The jobs that some children work for is in the burning heat sun or maybe in the cold with not that much cloths. The age restriction to work is 16 over but even though they worked so hard,  there is still not enough food on the table for the family. I felt very disappointed about how much the children all around the world get treated differently.

Some people in countries can’t apply to the UDHR because they are very poor. Some families work their children just to get money. A number people in countries get kicked out of their houses for being a junkie. Then they are put into the streets to starve and suffer with their families. Another reason why is because some families are treated like slaves and that is violating one of the rights.

I think that New Zealand is a peaceful country. New Zealand grants most of the Human Rights to all human being in New Zealand.All the children get to be educated with good resources and great help from the government. New Zealand also has a welfare that is located all around New Zealand where families don't have to suffer without a home and food.

Cultural Significant of the Amazon

The people of the Amazon live in a Cultural Significant forest life. The rain forest
is a playground to the the children. The people of the Amazon rely on what they grow
and what they catch. Trees in the Amazon are busted down so there is access for the
cars and buses. It is also sold to the people to build their houses. A Lot of communities
disagree on the decision of cutting down the trees because a lot of Co2 is in the air and
it is bad for the environment because it could be bad news for the fishes in their rivers.
The kids travel to school on the river using a Canoe and the public uses the bus.

Geographically Significant Rainforest

Amazon Rain forest

The Amazon is Geographically Significant to be the Lungs of the pacific. The Amazon has second
longest river in the world. People these days use a lot of cars and travel from countries to countries
with planes. Anything with a engine releases Co2 into the air. Also the power station releases the most Co2 because it keeps everyone's power on and running.If there is not that much trees or no trees at all it mixes into the air and causes cyclones that can be terrible for the town. Another way to keep the air safe is saving power like turning off the lights and turning off the T.V if not being use can help the power station for not releasing too much Co2 and making it easier for our environment. The Rain forest is significant because the trees produce the oxygen and takes in all the negative air such as Co2.

My Significant Place: Wellsford

                           

The place that is significant to me is Wellsford. It is significant to
me because it is the place of my old primary school. It was my first ever
school and I have a lot of memories of this place as it was the place where all my siblings went too.

Another  reason why this place is significant to me is because of my Family have live there for more
than twenty years. I went to school with them and had lots of fun memories with them as we were growing up
over the years. My cousins that live there has lived there for most of their lives in Wellsford and I don't think they
plan to leave.


A third reason why this place is significant to me is because Wellsford has the best Mcdonalds that
I have ever tasted in my life. Their service is very good.
I also used to enjoy playing at the park that was built right next to the Mcdonalds.

SOS 2017

The most topic i admired the most was Government. It was the most topic i learned about too. Learning about this was like knowing that i also got a say and how much my words is worth. I’m really keen to learn more about Government.

The most topic I disliked about was Globalisation. It is because i didn’t find anything interesting about that topic. I think if i learn more i would find this topic more interesting.

Camp 2017

Monday we went to Hunua Falls for camp. The reason the camp was organised it's because of us yr 9s making a bigger bond between each other. The camp was called Camp Adair. The camp made me feel closer to my classmates and also know more about them also having big bonds with other classes. I learnt a lot like how classes can change their behaviour over 2 days. The most unliked thing about camp was doing the confidence course in the cold morning. My whole body was so numb I couldn't feel it but it was lots of fun. The confidence is when we had to go through muddy deep puddles and jump on top of frosty logs.

Pull and Push Factors

Pull factors is things that make you want to move to another country such as pay wages. Some people come to countries where they would get good money from good jobs. Push factors are the negative things that make you want to leave, such as low pay rates. My mum moved to NZ to work and get money for her family back in the islands. She moved because there was no other job back in Samoa that could help her family, so she moved. Whatever money she got from her job in NZ would be sent to Samoa for her family. The push factor was no jobs in Samoa and the pull factor is more jobs in NZ.

Tokelau

Tokelau is in the south Pacific ocean and 500 km away from Samoa. Tokelau has changed over the past decades, for example cash registers has been brought in to Tokelau. Tokelau now has phone lines and makes it easy for contact. Each family on the island has enough food for the family. The fish is been caught by fishermen. Children that go to school travel by boat. Some families send their children away overseas to have a better education. Also for the children to help out their family in the islands.

Social Studies

Our is up key question our project house our house and our homes. We haven't figured out our name for group yet but we will get it. Our topics is house and our homes. Our reasons why we chose this so we can put our point of view forward. I think our group is going well for where we are. I think if we focus more we will get it done.

Year 8 graduation

Yesterday us year 8 students had graduation for our last year at primary school. I came late but I still made it before the food. I was proud of myself graduating year 8 so now I can set new goals to achieve. Sione Taufa spoke a very inspiring speech at our graduation telling us to dream big but start small. I was having fun with my friends and taking photos. I also enjoyed eating the lollie lays.
